I work with adults (over 18) on a one-to-one basis. Sometimes the work can be short term, focussing on a particular issue. However, there are occasions when our work together requires a somewhat longer period of time. We conclude our work when you as the client feel ready to do so.
In our first session we’ll explore the issues which have brought you to therapy as well as your hopes and expectations of the process. It’s also a chance for me to answer any questions you may have. If, at the end of the session, you decide that you would like us to work together, we can then make arrangements for our future work.
It’s my role to create a safe space, somewhere where we can both reflect on what takes place between us in a non-judgemental way; a space where we allow the emerging of new perspectives, new ways of thinking on whatever you may bring to the session. I know from my own experience that therapy can help unblock unhelpful thought patterns and assist us to move forward. As an integrative psychotherapist trained in a number of approaches, I draw upon these in our work.
